Two Students Develop Mobile App for Punjab Electric Bus Routes and Timings

Two students, Muhammad Ghayas and Rizwan Ali, have developed an application for Punjab’s electric bus service to access the Punjab Electric Bus Routes and Timing details.

Muhammad Ghayas is facing an issue in finding the accurate timing of the Punjab Electric bus service. After addressing this issue along with their friend Rizwan Ali, he designed a solution to this problem that people face daily.

By using this application, passengers can access detailed information about electric bus routes, stops, and departure timings across multiple cities in Punjab. Also, a very helpful feature, if any changes are made in the schedule of routes, a notification is sent to the user.

According to developers, the offline functionality makes this app accessible to users without internet.

This application is not available on the Google Play Store, and users can access it through a website. The co-founder, Rizwan, said this project is in its early stages and has no live bus tracking functionality. They said that adding this feature required collaboration with the Punjab Transport Authority and the Punjab Information Technology Board.

This app grabbed significant attention from users on Instagram. According to developers, they received over 50k views on social media nd more than 500 downloads on the app.

They claimed they have strong support from the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab Transport Authority, and the Punjab Information Technology Board to add some additional features, such as live tracking of buses and bus timing, and route details.
